T017 – Large Teaching Space with Collaboration Pods
The Large Teaching Room with Pods at UQ is a versatile and technologically advanced space designed to accommodate up to 100 participants. This room is ideal for collaborative learning and group work, with integrated pods that allow for both individual and collective teaching activities. The room features seven displays, providing ample visual coverage throughout the space, including six displays dedicated to the collaborative pods. Each pod is equipped with a Crestron touch panel, allowing students to engage directly with the content. A Sony projector, paired with a motorized screen, serves as the main display. The teaching station includes a PC, an Elmo document camera, and a lectern touch monitor, providing instructors with the tools needed to deliver engaging and interactive lessons. The room’s audio system is managed by a Biamp Tesira audio signal processor, ensuring high-quality sound throughout the space. Audio is delivered via six JBL speakers, with sound capture managed by a Shure MXA910 in-ceiling microphone and a range of wireless microphones, including lapel and handheld options by Shure. Control over the room’s technology is streamlined with a Crestron touch panel, which offers easy access to all AV functions, lighting controls, and motorized blinds. Each pod is connected to the central system through a Cisco network switch. The integrated AV system is optimized for unified communications, featuring Innomate’s Innomesh platform for robust AV and unified communications support. This includes proactive monitoring via AVaaS and UCaaS solutions, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.
